Story Kurita Kanna (Miyazaki), a record company employee, accidentally discovers a aging punk rock band called Shonen Merikensack (Brass Knuckle Boys) after she comes across 25-year-old footage of the band.
The rockers are now all over the age of 50, and Kanna is assigned the task of signing the band even though she's not particularly adept at her job and doesn't enjoy punk music.
Also appearing in the film are Yusuke Santamaria as the gay president of Kanna's record company and Ryo Katsuji as Kanna's boyfriend. This will be Miyazaki's first comedy role in a movie.
Re: J-Movie: 少年メリケンサック (Shonen Meriken Sakku) Bubu, thanks for making the front page for Shonen Meriken Sakku! How exciting that this movie will be Miyazaki Aoi's first comedic role. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie when it gets released, especially since Miyazaki Aoi is one of my favorite Japanese actresses. She's been doing such a superb job in Atsu-hime, so it'll be fun to see her in for the first time in a comedy!
