C-Drama: KSCI 7PM 《甜蜜蜜》Tian Mi Mi/Sweet Sweet Love (6/16/2008-7/24/2008)
《大秦帝國》The Qin Empire ended 6/13/2008. Tian Mi Mi 《甜蜜蜜》will replace "the Qin Empire" and will begin on 6/16/2008.
Tian Mi mi is a 26-episode drama. It was released in 2007. It's a mainland Chinese production. There aren't any actors from Taiwan or HK or Singapore in this drama.
Just saw the trailer for this drama. The lead actress is Sun Li. She was the lead actress with Huang Xiao Ming in the New Shanghai Bund. I looked carefully at the trailer and there was no mention of the singer who made Tian Mi Mi one of the most famous songs in Chinese pop music. Teresa Teng's voice reverberates throughout. We shall see whether the song will upstage the drama.

My prediction is that Teresa Teng's voice will overwhelm this drama. According to the synopsis of this drama, the story began in the late 1970s.

Ep. 1-5 Summaries
Episode 1
Near the end of the 1970s, in the outskirts of a city in the north, there is a farm "398". The son of a high level official at the farm, Lei Lei stole the farm's only motorcycle and used it to steal chicken with his friends. They roasted the stolen chicken to celebrate Da-Tou's success at passing the university entrance exam. Lei-Lei also stole the farm's only radio, so he and his buddies can listen to Teresa Teng's songs, especially "Tian Mi Mi". Just as they were having a grand time listening to the song, the farm's police brought guns and tried to capture them.
At the farm's medical office, a new lady doctor Yeh Ching has arrived. She was transferred from another cooperative farm. She is beautiful and a little bit naive. All the men in the farm (from 20s to 40s) have a thing for her. They would come to the medical office to see her. Yeh Ching's youthful beauty started to create problems (jealousy) amongst the women at the farm, causing them to call her names. They labeled her "puo shieh/shoes with holes" (I think it means used shoes or mistresses). People suspected that she is not as simple as she seems because her transfer was done through the 2nd in command of the farm, Hsu.
Yeh Ching and her mother often received unkind remarks from others. Yeh Ching wears mask at work because it's one of the rules at the medical office, but it offended many people, especially Secretary Yu (who happens to be Lei-Lei's mom). Secretary Yu tried to find out more about Yeh Ching from the head of the medical office. Secretary Yu found Yeh Ching aloof and impolite.
Dr. Han, Yeh Ching's co-worker at the medical office got admitted to the provincial medical school. He will leave as soon as he passes the physical check up. Yeh Ching has yet to receive her admission letter, although the school said they sent the letter out 2 weeks ago. Dr. Han went to talk to Hsu, and tried to get him to help, but Hsu held on to the letter saying that Yeh Ching did not get permission to write the entrance exam, so her admission to the school is illegal too. Hsu tried to use his power to get close to Yeh Ching and make her his mistress.
While avoiding capture, Lei-Lei ended up in Yeh Ching's office. In an instant, he was captivated by Yeh Ching's beauty. He hid his stolen radio in Yeh Ching's desk drawer.
Episode 2
Lei Lei asked Yeh Ching to write a doctor's note so he can avoid going to a farm meeting, but Yeh refused, so Lei-Lei called her "puo shieh/shoes with holes". Just as things got tense, Dr. Han came over and resolved the situation by writing Lei Lei a note for 10 days off.
After work, Yeh Ching went home, but the neighbors splashed dirty water on her. She went to the lake to cry and wondered out loud what she had done to these people to make them hate her!
Yeh Ching asked Farm 398's official Fang to help her get her files back from Hsu (the head of the farm), but Fang knew that Hsu will get promoted to the head of the farm soon, so Fang didn't want to antagonize Hsu. Fand didn't help Yeh Ching.
Lei-Lei gradually got to know Yeh Ching and felt really guilty for calling her names. So he plugged up the chimney at Hsu's house--an attempt to do revenge for Yeh Ching.
Episode 3
Mrs. Hsu tried to get Yeh Ching in trouble. She was shouting and screaming profanity at Yeh Ching on the street. Lei-Lei helped Yeh Ching by putting the radio he stole from the Farm in Mrs. Hsu's pocket. Later, everyone thought it was Mrs. Hsu who stole the radio. Yeh Ching saw what Lei Lei did for her and felt really grateful. She began to like Lei Lei.
Lei Lei and Yeh Ching met up at the lake accidentally. They started to skate and listened to the song Tian Mi Mi together. Lei Lei ended up kissing Yeh Ching. He was so excited that when he walked her home, he gave Yeh Ching his radio and told her that if anyone causes her trouble from now one, he'll take care of her.
Go-Ze brought a bunch of hoodlums and tried to get back at Lei Lei. Lei Lei got beaten up and ended up at the lake. Lei Lei's friend, Hei-Pi, told Yeh Ching that Lei Lei got hurt. Yeh Ching ran to the lake to fix Lei Lei's wounds.
Dr. Han became a graduate student at the provincial medical school. He's also in charge of the freshman class. He mentioned to the department head that Yeh Ching's file has yet to arrive from Farm 398.
Episode 4
Lei-Lei's father got transferred back to the province as the leader of the province, so Lei Lei will leave Farm 398 soon. Before he left, he forced his mother to go to official Fang and asked Fang to get Hsu to release Yeh Ching's file. Dr. Han told the school's department head that this student is his girlfriend. The two of them are getting married soon. The school finally received Yeh Ching's file from Farm 398. Between Lei Lei and Dr. Han, Yeh Ching and her mother finally were able to leave Farm 398. Yeh Ching is finally a medical student.
After Lei Lei left, he kept thinking about Yeh Ching, so he came back to the Farm. That's when he found out that Yeh Ching and her mother had gone back to the city. Yeh Ching finally got to go the medical school. When she arrived, she found out Dr. Han is the leader of her class. At the medical school, Yeh Ching made a new friend, Hwa Hwa. At this time, Yeh Ching's father was allowed home (from jail--probably from cultural revolution). The family finally reunited.
Episode 5
Yeh Ching met Lei Lei at the library. Lei Lei brought Teresa Teng's newest album to Yeh Ching's dorm. Dr. Han came and saw that Yeh Ching and Lei Lei have fallen in love. Dr. Han became very jealous.
At the medical school, lots of girls often surround Dr. Han. Yeh Ching's friend, Hwa Hwa is very protective of Dr. Han and gets very annoyed with these women. The nephew of one of the officials at FArm 398, Zhang, saw Yeh Ching at the school. He immediately tried to find out whether Yeh Ching has any boyfriends. Lei Lei came home to find that his mom had destroyed all of his Teresa Teng song collection. Lei Lei got so mad that he left home to stay with Da Tou at his dorm.

Ep. 6-10 Summaries
Episode 6
Zhang went to medical school to find Yeh Ching. He gave her a book called "Red and Black". At the school dance that night, Zhang and Yeh Ching began to dance. Lei Lei happened to be at the dance and saw the way Zhang was holding Yeh Ching while dancing, he got really mad. Zhang and Lei Lei almost started to fight. Zhang taunted Lei Lei by saying that Yeh Ching will fall for him soon.
Zhang asked Yeh Ching to go to a movie, but he took Yeh to the woods instead. Dr. Han found out that Zhang was scheming something so he followed them. Just them, he saw Lei Lei and his friends. Dr. Han told Lei Lei of his suspicion. Lei Lei went to the woods and managed to save Yeh Ching. He beat up Zhang, but he was also hurt. That night, Yeh Ching and Lei Lei went to Dr. Han's dorm. Dr. Han treated Lei Lei's wounds. Lei Lei started to say that Yeh Ching is careless and didn't have any self-respect. The two fought and left unhappily.
Episode 7
The news that Lei Lei fought for Yeh Ching traveled quickly through the medical school. Da Tou told Lei Lei that Zhang had began to spread rumors about Yeh Ching. Lei Lei warned Zhang to watch what he is doing.
Hwa Hwa went to Yeh Ching's house for dinner. She discovered that Yeh Ching's father was a famous Chinese medicine doctor before he was labeled "Right Wing'. Yeh Ching's mom is a wonderful housewife. Hwa Hwa realized why Yeh Ching is such a nice girl--because she's from a nice family. After dinner, Hwa Hwa returned to school with Yeh Ching. On the road, they saw Lei Lei flew passed them in a motorcycle.
One more day until the provincial exam. Lei lei refused to go home and slept in Da Tou's dorm. Yeh Ching came over to talk Lei Lei into writing the exam. She also told Lei Lei that while they are in school, they are just friends. Lei Lei was able to take the exam. Yeh Ching waited for Lei Lei to finish the exam every day.
Yeh Ching's mom discovered Yeh Ching's strange behavior (she seemed a bit scatttered) and thought that Yeh Ching must be in love.
Episode 8
Yeh Ching waited for Lei Lei outside the exam room. She hid behind a tree and didn't want Lei Lei to find out, but Lei Lei saw her anyway. Lei Lei demanded why Yeh Ching can't come out and say that she likes him. The two fought and left unhappily. Yeh Ching's parents saw Lei Lei talking to Yeh Ching and recognized him as the hoodlum son of a high official at Farm 398. They did not like him at all.
The second day, Yeh Ching's mom came to the examination hall to find Lei Lei. She gave the radio that Yeh Ching received from Lei lei back to Lei Lei and asked him not to bother Yeh Ching again. She said his behavior towards Yeh Ching will be bad influence for Yeh Ching.
Because Yeh Ching's parents' behavior towards Lei Lei hurt him deelp, he and Hei-Pi kidnapped Yeh Ching to outskirts of town in his motorcycle, so he didn't take the last exam.
Episode 9
That night, Lei Lei saw how cold Yeh Ching was, he took off his clothes to give them to Yeh Ching to keep her warm, but Yeh Ching misunderstood him, the two fought. The next day, while Lei Lei was searching for food, Yeh Ching escaped, but she slipped and fell down a hill and fainted. Lei Lei rushed into town in his motorcycle to buy medicine for Yeh Ching. But Lei Lei came across Zhang and his gang and the gang beat up Lei Lei. Lei Lei went to the police and told them about Yeh Ching. Hei-Pi ran away, but Yeh Ching was saved. Lei Lei ended up in the hospital with hands cuffed to the bed. When Yeh Ching came to visit Lei Lei at the hospital, seeing him there made her cry.
Episode 10
Yeh Ching's mom insisted on prosecuting lei Lei, but Lei Lei's mom insisted that it was Yeh Ching who enticed Lei Lei. The two parents started to fight in the hospital. The police came to Yeh Ching's hospital room to get her account of the incident, but Yeh Ching's mom won't let Yeh Ching tell the truth and insisted that Lei Lei be put in jail.
Zhang started to spread the rumor that Lei Lei raped Yeh Ching. He even came to the hospital room to visit Yeh Ching, but Yeh Ching threw him out. It was only when Yeh Ching guaranteed to her parents that she will not see Lei Lei again that her parents dropped the charges against Lei Lei. Mrs. Yeh wanted Yeh Ching to study English so she can study abroad. Da Tou came to the hospital to visit Lei Lei and told him that had he not miss the last exam, he would definitely pass the university exam. Lei Lei resigned to the fact that he was not fated for college.

Ep. 11-15 Summaries
第十一集 Episode 11
Yeh Ching returned to her classes after her "kidnapping" incident, but all her classmates were making fun of her. They even wrote derogatory remarks about Yeh Ching on the blackboard. None of her classmates want to be in the same class with her. Han Yang got called to the Dean's office and he found out someone had sent a letter to the Dean outlining Yeh Ching's moral sins.
Meanwhile, the Director of the medical office at the 398 Cooperative Farm (where Yeh Ching escaped from) came to Yeh Ching's house to get her parents to consent to Yeh Ching's marriage to Zhang Jun. Yeh Ching's mother was so angry with the Director's words about Yeh Ching and she told her to leave.
Lei Lei's friend Da Toe received a similar letter (talking about Yeh Ching's moral sins--that she eloped with her boyfriend and that she was raped) and showed it to Lei Lei. Da Toe also told Lei Lei that Yeh Ching is not doing too well at her school. The Dean asked to speak to Yeh Ching and suggested that she should have a leave of absence from school for a while. Lei Lei went to the school to explain to the school administration that everything in the letter was false. Lei Lei saw Yeh Ching at the Dean's Office. He is further drawn to Yeh Ching.
Episode 12
Lei Lei decided to go and look for Hei Pi (who was a witness at the alleged "kidnapping") who had since left home to escape prosecution arose from the "kidnapping" situation. Lei Lei figured that Hei Pi is the only person who can give witness and clear Yeh Ching's name. Lei Lei stole some meal tickets and 15 dollars from home and went to the country side to look for Hei Pi. Lei Lei missed his opportunity to become a soldier. Dr. Han went to Yeh Ching's house to persuade her to leave school for a while, but Yeh Ching ignored his advice and insisted on going to her classes. She even went to the Head of the Medical School and tried to explain her situation. Dr. Han tried to find out how Yeh Ching is doing from her best friend Hua Hua, but instead, Hua Hua told Dr. Han that she likes him. Dr. Han asked Yeh Ching and Hua Hua to his house for a meal. Hua Hua used the opportunity to tell Dr. Han how she feels about him, but Dr. Han didn't know what to do. Yeh Ching found Da Toe to find out about Lei Lei. Da Toe told her that Lei Lei went to look for Hei-Pi and he had been gone for a week and nobody has heard from him yet.
第十三集 Episode 13
Lei Lei finally found Hei-Pi after being homeless for a week. He begged Hei Pi to come forward to prove Yeh Ching's innocence, but Hei Pi got scared and hid from Lei Lei. Hua Hua and Dr. Han went to Yeh Ching's house for lunch. Mrs. Yeh asked Hua Hua about Yeh Ching and Dr. Han. When Hua Hua witnessed that Yeh Ching continued to listen to "Tian Mi Mi", she advised Yeh Ching not to think about Lei Lei anymore. She told Yeh Ching not to think about the impossible. She also told Yeh Ching that in order for Dr. Han to get her files away from Cooperative Farm 398, he had to lie to the school that Yeh Ching was his girlfriend. This information was news to Yeh Ching. She was surprised by it.
Lei Lei found Hei Pi and dragged him to Yeh Ching's medical school. He wanted to prove to the Dean that Yeh Ching's innocent. But faced with the teachers' nonchalance, Lei Lei got angry at the teachers and was kicked out of the school. Yeh Ching rushed to the Security Office and said that Lei Lei was her friend (not a hoodlum). Both Lei Lei and Yeh Ching were touched by each other's courage.
第十四集 Episode 14
Yeh Ching's parents received a phone call from the Dean's Office asking them to come to the school. They came across Yeh Ching and Lei Lei. Mrs. Yeh kept screaming "Hoodlum" at Lei Lei causing Yeh Ching to get mad at her mother. Mother and daughter fought bitterly. Yeh Ching's mother came to the City Hall to see Lei Lei's father and told him about how Lei Lei went to Yeh Ching's school and made a scene. When Mr. Lei went home, he threw Lei Lei out of the house.
Dr. Han and Yeh Ching went for a walk. They thought about what the difficulties facing them while they were living at Farm 398. They discovered that coming the university didn't really improve their lives. They are still spiritually and emotionally crippled without knowing what the future has in store for them. Yeh Ching then told Dr. Han that they will always be friend. Dr. Han accepted that Yeh Ching will never love him and decided to face reality and be her friend forever.
Lei Lei finally found a job at the bureau of documents. He discovered that his job involved copying documents and he doesn't have to talk at all. He couldn't stand working there and skipped work that first day.
第十五集 Episode 15
Lei Lei continued to be jobless. He managed to start a business with a Hong Kong businessman with the help of Sa Sa. Lei Lei also discovered that the other business partner is Zhang Jun and threw a fit. Lei Lei would not continue the business partnership. Sa Sa had to talk him into doing the business by lying to Lei Lei about the extent of Zhang's involvement in this business venture.
Dr. Han's father is gravely ill and Yeh Ching went to visit him. Yeh Ching's parents continued to push for their daughter to marry Dr. Han. Even Hua Hua tried to persuade Yeh Ching, but Yeh Ching would not listen. Yeh Ching became antagonistic towards Hua Hua and her parents, causing her relationship with Dr. Han to become rather awkward.
During this time, Lei Lei and Yeh Ching didn't meet. Da Toe saw how Lei Lei still thinks about Yeh Ching and tried to persuade Lei Lei to go and see Yeh Ching.

Ep. 16-20 Summaries
第十六集 Episode 16
Lei Lei came to the university to look for Yeh Ching, but he saw Hua Hua instead. Hua Hua told Lei Lei that Yeh Ching is currently dating Dr. Han and Yeh Ching's life now is nice and calm without Lei Lei's presence. Just then, Lei Lei saw Yeh Ching and Dr. Han taking a walk. Lei Lei expressed his desire to be with Yeh Ching, but Yeh's parents saw the encounter and put a stop to it. Lei Lei ended up promising Yeh's parents that he will not bother Yeh again. Lei Lei got drunk after leaving Yeh Ching and went home with "Tian Mi Mi" cassette still in his hands. Sa Sa saw this and felt really bad for Lei Lei and herself. Sa Sa still loves Lei Lei and did not want to give him up. She continues to pursue him with all her efforts.
Lei Lei and his friends were doing drag racing in the street and the police was chasing after them, but because Lei Lei tried to save a little girl, he was captured by the police. Yeh Ching happened to see this coming down so she followed t hem to the police station. Yeh Ching pretended to be a neighborhood organization leader and she managed to get Lei Lei out of the police station. Both Lei Lei and Yeh Ching still love each other very much, but their stubborn pride prevented each other from admitting to it. They ended up fighting and leaving!

Hua Hua encouraged Dr. Han to face his feelings for Yeh Ching honestly, but Dr. Han insisted that he will respect Yeh Ching's decision. He did not want to force Yeh Ching into anything. When Yeh Ching took her father to the hospital for a checkup, she saw Dr. Han. From the way she talked, Dr. Han discovered that Yeh Ching still loves Lei Lei very much, so Dr. Han stopped himself from telling Yeh Ching how he feels about her.
One day, Lei Lei came upon Zhang Jun trying to push himself on Sa Sa. Lei Lei punched Zhang Jun. Zhang hated Lei Lei and decided to exact revenge on Lei Lei. Since Zhang knew about Lei Lei's shady business dealings, he wanted to ruin Lei Lei. Soon, Lei Lei got a phone call from Sa Sa saying that something went wrong with their business venture. Da Toe and Hei Pi wanted to help Lei Lei and they got a rickshaw to move their illegal shipment. The rickshaw moved through the city market. At the market, they saw Yeh Ching. Zhang confronted them and started to make fun of Yeh Ching in front of Lei Lei. Lei Lei wanted to protect Yeh Chng so he started to fight with Zhang. In the midst of chaos, the rickshaw fell on top of Lei Lei. Lei Lei was seriously hurt and Yeh Ching brought him to the hospital. After this incident, Lei Lei and Yeh Ching agreed that they will never part again. Yeh Ching continued to take care of Lei Lei at the hospital and their relationship deepened.

The university wanted to decide on the fate of Yeh Ching (for all the trouble she had caused the school), but Dr. Han defended Yeh Ching. When Lei Lei returned from the hospital, his mother didn't want him to just hang out at the house without a job, so she wanted him to work at a steady job. But Lei Lei didn't want to get assigned to a government agency, so he fought with his mother. After Lei Lei recovered from his rickshaw injury, Lei Lei and Yeh Ching started to date behind their parents' backs. When Dr. Han saw how close and happy Yeh Ching and Lei Lei are while dating, he got very emotional (with jealousy). Hua Hua saw how sad Dr. Han was and she felt really bad for him. She came over to talk to Dr. Han hoping that she can make him feel better.
Soon Lei Lei and Yeh Ching were seeing each other regularly. At Lei Lei's suggestion, the two of them decides to have a competition near the railroad. Lei Lei's shoes got stuck on the railroad track and just as the train was coming towards them, Yeh Ching risked her life to help Lei Lei pull his foot out of the railroad track. After this experience, Lei Lei and Yeh Ching were sure of their love for each other.
第十九集 Episode 19
Yeh Ching continued to date Lei Lei frequently behind her parents' back. One day, Lei Lei used the lyrics from "Tian Mi Mi" to express his feelings for her, but when Yeh Ching remembered her parents' position on Lei Lei, Yeh Ching started to cry. Meanwhile, Yeh Ching's mother began to suspect that something is going on, so she decided to go to the school the next day to investigate. That night, Lei Lei took Yeh Ching to a construction site, but they fell downstairs accidentally and the security guards at the site discovered them and forced them to stay put until the police arrives. Yeh Ching was worried about school--she was getting her work assignment after graduation that day, so she was in a rush to go back to the school. As she was stuck at the construction site, she asked the woman who brought them food to call the school and find Dr. Han so he can pick them up.
The next morning Yeh Ching's mother came to the school to look for Yeh Ching and she found out what happened. She was livid. When Yeh Ching asked for Dr. Han's help, Lei Lei wasn't very happy. Lei Lei decided that he will have to confront Yeh Ching's parents because he doesn't want to hide the fact that they are dating anymore. As they were discussing this, Yeh Ching's mother found them and dragged Yeh Ching home. Once again, Yeh Ching and her parents fought bitterly. When Lei Lei called Yeh Ching, he tried to explain what happened to Yeh Ching's parents, but they refused to hear him out.
第二十集 Episode 20
Lei Lei doesn't give up easily, so the next day, he bought some presents and brought them to the Yeh home. Mr. Yeh talked to Lei Lei outside and he began to see Lei Lei's point of view. Although Mr. Yeh changed a little bit of his opinion of Lei Lei, he still couldn't allow his daughter to date Lei Lei and forbade them to see each other. As last resort, Lei Lei begged Mr. Yeh to allow him to write to (or call) Yeh Ching so they can still stay in touch. Lei Lei began to write to Yeh Ching and at the same time he opened a auto shop. He wants to use real actions to make Yeh Ching's parents understand that he is sincere and reliable. But Yeh Ching's mother still doesn't want Yeh Ching to ever see Lei Lei again, so she went behind Yeh Ching's back and asked her Dean of Medical School to give her an assignment to a country hospital, so she can leave the city for good. When Yeh Ching found out about her assignment, she couldn't take it.
Da Toe helped Lei Lei to find a car outfitting company in Beijing. Lei Lei wanted Yeh Ching to know about it, but no matter which channel he tried, he couldn't get hold of Yeh Ching. Last resort, Lei Lei asked Dr. Han to relay his message to Lei Lei. Dr. Han then told Lei Lei not to push Yeh Ching too hard because it will hurt Yeh Ching even more. After he heard this, Lei Lei decided to go to another province for a few months. He thought Dr. Han's advice of "Backing up is the precursor to a better moving forward". Yeh Ching's fight with her family got worse and she is extremely sad. She had no one to talk to. When Dr. Han saw how sad Yeh Ching was, he came over to make her feel better. He also told Yeh Ching what Lei Lei had wanted to tell her before he left. Lei Lei encouraged Yeh Ching to be strong. He believed that "if their love is meant to last, then they shouldn't care that much if they can't be together everyday now?!"
Three months had passed and Yeh Ching got assigned to a countryside hospital. During this period, Yeh Ching didn't feel well. She often felt like vomiting and her period didn't come. All of a sudden rumors began amongst all the pretty nurses and doctors in the hospital. When Yeh Ching's father called the hospital to find Yeh Ching, he heard the rumor. Just then, Lei Lei came home.

第二十一集
雷雷从北京回来迫切的去看望叶青，提着礼物回到叶青家，被叶青妈妈拒之门外，转交了叶青给他的信，并返回的雷雷寄给叶青的所有信件。雷雷看到信的内容不能相信信是叶青写给他的，决定去医院跟叶青当面问清楚。然而在林县医院，雷雷却意外听到了大家对叶青未婚先孕猜测传言，不能接受大家口中的事实，但也不知该如何面对叶青。
叶青一个人散心走到雷雷家，正巧看到莎莎拉雷雷出去，加深了她对雷雷的误会。叶家因为叶青单位无中生有的传言闹翻了天。叶青觉得母亲应该相信自己，觉得很委屈很无助。叶青妈妈承受不了这样残酷的事实，思来想去，决定拉着叶青父亲决定去雷雷家走一趟，为了自己女儿一生的幸福，当着雷雷的父母把事情讲清楚。两家家长因为儿女的事情发生了冲突，事情也解决不了，最后商量找两个年轻人问清楚再决定下一步该如何。
叶青因为传言的事心情很不好，等在雷雷家门口，两个人终于见面，把之间的误会化解。
雷雷父母经叶青父母一闹，感觉到事情的严重性，马上去找两个孩子问清楚情况。在雷雷住处遇到两人，雷父跟叶青当面了解了情况，发现两人是真心相爱。
第二十二集
当晚叶母看到叶青坐雷雷车回来，越发担心。第二天叶青母亲到市政府门口，栏住了雷市长的车非要他当众把事情说出来，场面一度很是尴尬。围观的群众也越来越多，雷副市长当中众人的面替儿子说了公道话。叶父的及时赶到把叶母拉走避免了现场的尴尬。
叶青仍和雷雷甜蜜的恋爱着，和父母的关系陷入了僵局。
叶青去华华家做客的路上遇到韩阳，韩阳告诉她，从她父亲口中听到叶青工作上出现困难，说在为她打听工作的事情。莎莎因为叶青和雷雷的事去找雷雷闹，雷雷面对面跟莎莎把话讲得很清楚，希望莎莎能够明白两人之间不可能，彻底放弃追求他的想法。韩阳从叶青口中得知她和雷雷现在在一起很开心，虽然真心为叶青幸福，但心底里还是放不下对叶青的感情。张军因为上次与雷雷发生冲突，在单位受到了处分，对雷雷一直耿耿于怀，在这次雷雷正常工商审批的办理过程中，处处刁难雷雷向他挑衅，想借此激怒雷雷，抓住把柄拖雷雷下水。
第二十三集
叶父近来的身体每况愈下，不得已去医院做全面检查，全家人都在焦急的等待检查结果。张军几次三番到雷雷店里闹事，借口有人举报雷雷店里用的机油有问题，要求停业等候检查结果。有一天张军又到雷雷店里，想激怒雷雷，见雷雷始终不上当，张军一怒之下拿起利器想与雷雷同归于尽，雷雷在与张军抢夺凶器时也受了伤，这时莎莎赶来见情况紧急立即报警，一会警察赶到控制了场面，将两人一起带走了解情况。正巧叶父路过看到这一幕，担心着急，一气之下晕倒住进了医院。
叶青听到父亲住院的消息急忙赶到医院，在病房门口听到父母的对话，父亲伤心欲绝的话听得叶青泪止不住的流。她进病房想安慰爸爸，向父母解释这次事件根本与雷雷无关，却被爸妈推出门外，不认她这个女儿。看到爸妈如此的伤心预绝，叶青只好答应不再与雷雷见面。雷雷也慢慢成长，变得越来越成熟，他一直在背后默默支持着叶青，鼓励她，等着她，让她先好好照顾病重的父亲，他会等到叶青父母接受他的那一天，让叶青分外感动，约好明天再见面。然而叶父病情恶化，在父亲临去北京手术前叶青艰难的下了决心，不见雷雷最后一面，陪父亲去了北京。留下不知情的雷雷一个人在约会的地方等了很久，他不能理解短短一天叶青就突然没有了音信。对感情失望的雷雷决定南下去深圳发展。
第二十四集
几年过去了，叶青和韩阳都已经成为了优秀的医生。
雷雷从南方回来了。在家里，雷雷跟父母之间也化解了，父母终于看到儿子有了出息，长大懂事了。但谈到个人问题时，雷雷也坚决的向父亲表示，可能不会结婚了。
分别多年的雷雷回来后，和大头意外相遇。在两人聊天的过程中，雷雷得知黑皮因为走私入狱。考虑到以前都是一起长大的好朋友，现在新店开张也需要人手，雷雷决定拉黑皮一把，希望他可以重新做人。
韩阳和叶青的关系若即若离，一直不明朗，这让年龄越来越大的韩阳很着急，也让叶青的父母很着急。父母不断的催促与同事的传言，让叶青决定与韩阳好好谈谈。雷雷在酒吧和朋友聊天，正巧看见叶青和韩阳在一起。可是多年前叶青不辞而别的误会却让雷雷在面对叶青时异常冷酷。
第二十五集
两人几天后又一次在音像店不期而遇，而且同时挑中了同一张邓丽君的CD，充满仇恨的雷雷愤然离去。
韩阳跟叶青的父母说了雷雷回来的事，并提出带叶青去南方散心，得到叶青父母的支持。大头带莎莎来看雷雷，雷雷得知莎莎多年来一直单身在等雷雷回来，莎莎也大胆的表示只爱雷雷一个人，但雷雷坚持他们之间只能是朋友哥们，永远不可能有别的感情。雷雷的父母看到一把年级的雷雷，也到处张罗着给雷雷介绍女朋友。同样刑满释放的张军得知雷雷从南方回来，而且成了大老板，心生妒意，想利用在雷雷店里工作的黑皮搞汽车走私，没有主见的黑皮左右为难。雷雷在工作中不小心弄伤了手到医院包扎遇上韩阳。韩阳告诉雷雷叶青多年来一直队雷雷心存内疚，希望雷雷不管爱不爱叶青，都能给叶青一个机会让她解释清楚。雷雷找到叶青，两人由于多年前误会大吵一架。雷雷不但不给叶青解释的机会，还表示他后悔以前发生的事情，要从此忘掉叶青，忘掉所有的一切。叶青心如刀割，失魂落魄的独立转身离去。
第二十六集
雷雷追上伤心欲绝的叶青，激烈的争执让疲惫的叶青昏倒在了马路上。看到躺在病床上的叶青，雷雷感觉到自己仍然深深的爱着她。早晨，来病房看望的韩阳看到叶青和雷雷手拉手的在一起，终于放弃了最后的努力，决定调离现在的医院。叶青到雷雷公司了解到雷雷聘用刑满释放人员的情况，被雷雷的善良再次打动。在雷雷的家里，两个苦恋多年的人又一次紧紧的拥抱在一起，积蓄多年的情感终于爆发了……警察到公司找雷雷，指出黑皮一直和张军串通搞走私汽车，并出示了黑皮和张军走私团伙在一起的照片，雷雷非常失望。韩阳由于替叶青做手术失败，病人家属闹上医院，这让叶青感到非常内疚。韩阳则说出了他打算申请去支援边远山区的决定。 在雷雷协助公安部门抓捕张军的过程中，狗急跳墙的张军加大油门，冲向了挡在前面的雷雷……
病房里，叶青细心的照顾着已经成为植物人的雷雷，耳边响起了邓丽君的老歌——《甜蜜蜜》，他们仿佛又回到了从前……（全剧终）
