Wow. This is certainly a different story line, one I haven't seen in any J- or K-drama. Should be interesting. I expect it to be an inspirational tear-jerker. We shall see...Yes, a totally different storyline. Sounds intense, but I'm sure there will be some lite moments.
I prefer a 7 o'clock start, but I'll take what I can get since they brought the early evening time slot back.
EDITED to add: Just read my post in the Asakusa thread referring to a preview of this new drama..... not knowing about the actual storyline, I stated that it looks like a fun drama, so I'm sure there will be a lot of lightness to overcome the characters personal setbacks.

why Magicbell moved their drama timeslot from 7 ~ 8 to 6:30 ~ approx. 7:15. I noticed that along with the new timeslot, they also started cutting out most of their commercials. What a relief! Now, they only have three or four commercial breaks throughout the drama, and during these breaks they only air one or two commercials. If only UTB could do something similar, LOL! Except that tonite, there was a 10 minute informercial for that restaurant and the drama still ended at 7:15 for the 15 minute religious show.
Okay..................... let's be honest............... who DIDN'T cry.
I cried the entire time --- half happy tears and the other half sad tears. All I can say is WOW! This is the first drams since a few years ago that is going to make me cry the whole time. Remember that Sunday nite drama about the gal who taught school at the children's hospital and almost each week a child would die of cancer. I never made it through the drama it was too heart wrenching.
But, I think this will have more happier, upbeat moments.
I thought the mom, brother and daughter were realistic in their behavior.
Forgot to add......... interesting how the boy knew what to do to have a baby. At first, I just thought nature took over, but it seems he purposely got her pregnant. Though, I know why......... his need to have a family to love and be loved.

Re: J-Drama: だいすき!! (Daisuki!!)
Daisuki!! - Episode #1 (Part 1)
I'll Become A Mother
This drama has really gotten off to a good start so far. I agree -- I think this has been one of the saddest episodes of a J-drama that we've seen in a long time. Nonetheless, I really like the characters, and the acting and plot both seem to be excellent so far. By the way, I wonder if that seven minute infomercial that Magicbell ran before the episode started is going to be aired every week?
Bubu, thanks for posting up the episode pics!
Poor Yuzu. It was so upsetting that she found out that her boyfriend had died in an accident the same day that she found out she was pregnant. It was surely a double blow for her. The actress who portrayed her is doing such an excellent job portraying Yuzu. I was glad that she was able to have her baby girl in the end.
CantGetEnough, I agree -- I think the boyfriend made a decision to have a baby because he didn't have a family of his own and wanted one. The lady from the workshop mentioned that the boyfriend lost his parents at a very young age, so he might have really wanted to finally have a family of his own as well.
I thought it was wonderful that Yuzu named her baby girl "Himawari". Himawari means sunflower in Japanese, and I remember that the late boyfriend told Yuzu in the beginning of the episode that he loved sunflowers.
I really liked Yuzu's brother and mother. Even though the mother was originally against Yuzu having the baby, I think the only reason she felt that way is because she thought her daughter wouldn't be able to raise a child on her own. I was happy that in the end, the mom and brother agreed that it would be good for Yuzu to have a baby and become a mother, and that they would support and help her along the way. The mother seems to have worked so hard in raising Yuzu -- though her condition must have made it very difficult, I think Yuzu's mom did her best to protect and raise her.
Interesting that the brother is studying to be a pianist. He also seems to love his sister dearly -- I like how their family is so united and close-knit. Its nice to see them supporting Yuzu's decision to have and raise her baby girl Himawari.
The end of the episode was a bit of a cliffhanger -- not only was the baby girl crying, but Yuzu also broke the glass cup she was washing. It looked like the sink was also overflowing. I wonder who the lady with the glasses that we saw at the very end of the episode was?
Part 2 of Episode 1 airs next Sunday, 9/28!
--- Wishing everyone a happy and wonderful 2009!
