sorry Iam still no good at this lifting and draging on this subborn old notebook, but tonight during Atsu-hime the first add Ive seen for this new series was aired so after I stopped bouncing off the ceiling I hit my keyboard hard and fast to get as much info up as soon as possible!!

Synopsis
39-year-old Ogata Satoko is a highly capable psychiatrist who is single. She's forthright, a caring older sister and reliable in her job and in private. Her interests are staying in luxurious Japanese inns and watching stand-up comedy videos.
Satoko hasn't had a boyfriend in the past five years. Nevertheless, she derives satisfaction from work and isn't worried about her finances. Among her good friends that she hangs out with are 35-year-old Morimura Nao, her junior who proclaims that she won't marry, and 39-year-old Oikawa Sadao, her peer since high school. Satoko is happily enjoying the single life.
At an alumni reunion as everyone is on the verge of 40, Takeuchi Mizue, her good friend since high school who is now a full-time housewife, rushes Satoko into action. "If you want children, you should marry now" and "It's women's happiness", but both are lost on Satoko, who isn't convinced.
One day, Satoko attempts to cheer up Nao, who is downcast over a shocking incident, and goes to her favourite hot-spring inn. There she coincidentally encounters a breakup between a handsome but somewhat odd man, Okamura Keitaro, and his girlfriend... --jade_frost

I really enjoy Matsu****a Yuki. She is such a good actress.
She played the role of Kimura's sister in his drama ENGINE. this new drama might be funny as well as appealing to women???

Thanks! Especially for the 8:50 time start for ep 1. With MDU (on other K station), the 8:50 time slot will be easy.
I'm thinking each ep may be a month in her 39th year. Sounds like a fun lighthearted dramedy.

bubu 13 go ahead and go nuts on this page, I just wanted to hit the board first with the news about the new show, Yeah just from what Ive read about it on the other boards this comedy looks like its going to be fun!
But whats with all this no-love for "Edison's Mother"kids? I like the show, yeah its been very, very overshadowed by "Daisuki" these past few months. But on its own it would have been the talk of this board. I'am hoping that after Daisuki that Magicbell brings on another of their strong dramas that we can get all emotional over.

Bubu, thanks for making the front page -- It looks great! By the way, I was trying to see if Runboard has an option to combine two threads into one, but it looks like they don't have that feature. No problemo, I just went ahead and added the posts from the other thread into this one. 
TomCat, the same thing happened to me -- I was also really surprised and excited when I saw the commercial for Around 40 while watching Atsu-hime. I'm glad that they chose a drama like this to air, it seems like a pretty light and easy to watch comedy. It'll be great to see a romantic comedy aired on UTB again. Reminds me of when they used to air stuff like Tsuhaan Man/Shopping Hero or Batsu Kare/One Boyfriend Down. I don't think I've seen Amami Yuki in a drama before, but it looks like she's won a Best Actress award for her role in this drama.
I'm also hoping that Around 40 is better than our current UTB drama. I've been watching The Mother of Edison, but I agree that the episodes are tending to become quite alike and repetitive. I'm looking forward to seeing Around 40 -- it looks good! The ratings are impressive too.

I remember Fujiki Naohito from a drama that aired in 2003 or 2004. Not so much him as the girl he co-starred with, Kano Miho. She was really good as were some of the supporting actors. Don't remember the name of the drama--perhaps Bubu? I bought a copy (expensive!) without subs, but I loved her and the music. He's also a singer.
