Supporting our local schools
I know this has nothing to do with the c/j/k dramas, but I thought I should get the word out because thousands of dollars worth of cash are being thrown out as trash.
I volunteer at my children's school by coordinating our school's "Trash to Cash" programs.
The "Trash to Cash" programs are programs that can turn some things into cash when a lot of people view them as trash. For example, the Box Tops on the packages of many products are being thrown out. Each Box Tops are worth 10 cents to the schools that submit them to General Mills.
The item I am asking for your help this week is the Von's/Pavillions 10% Back-to-School Program. Check out the website:

All I need is the Redemption codes on the Vons or Pavillions receipts (printed near the bottom 1/3 of the receipt OR a Vons/Pavillions Club Card number. I don't need names, addresses, or telephone numbers.
I have been busy looking in the shopping carts and parking lot grounds for loose receipts every time I visit a Vons or Pavillions. So far, I've collected over $95 for our school via this method. It's amazing how much this trash is worth to some people.
If you would like to support our school, please email me if you have a redemption code or a Vons/Pavillion Club Card number. The more numbers you collect for me, the more money our school will receive. The Safeway company (Vons/Pavillion's parent company) will send a check to our school. The money goes directly into our PTA to buy school supplies and equipment.
